Joyous June

Okay, so the weekly thing didnt work out. Once my classes got underway, I completely forgot I even had this thing!  So 4 months later, and lots to share.  I'll spread it out I think...

This one is all about the great things that are going on for me this month:  

(1) New apartment! friendlier roommates, bigger and better kitchen (including a microwave, a dishwasher & an oven that actually works!), AND I have the brightest room in the house. PLUS its about 2 min from one of the lesley classroom buildings (the other is about 20 min away) 

(2) New internship! The former one was great, but this one is AWESOME!!! I'm going to actually be working with study abroad programs!!! My supervisor is ridiculously nice/friendly/helpful/inclusive and hasn't even asked me to do any filing!

(3) I am really really really super uber proud of my little brother for going out into (and around) the world!  He's starting in Peru (just climbed Machu Pichu ), working his way through South America, then on to India (via Newark!?) and Thailand (if the coup is over by then...)  His travel partner is writing a blog & they (like me) want more readership! These three things - and a general absence of bad luck have made for a truly excellent month - here's hope it continues into July : )

Hot Choc

I had the most delicious hot chocolate last weekend.  Harvard Square, named because of its proximity TO the university, not because it’s part OF the university, had a lovely little hot chocolate tasting 

What do you want to do before you die?

Perhaps because I’ve started a new chapter to my life in a new city, but I find myself spongier than normal - constantly on the edge of my seat with new things coming at me around every bend in the corner (go ahead, take a moment to imagine those two metaphors together). And this excitement has led to a desire to pass it on to others.

I packed in less than 48 hours. What can I say? I'm a pro!  Granted, I left a pile of stuff for mummy dearest to send, but who's keeping track?

Back Again...Naturally

Well, I finally made it back from my 2 months in Japan (plus the necessary 10-day mini-trip afterwards) and I simply cannot seem to de-jetlag. I seem to be on a normal schedule, but then will wake up after only a few hours. I've further been sabotaging myself by taking afternoon naps justified by the too-short sleeping hours. Hopefully tomorrow will be the day it all comes together!

Firsts (& lasts?)

I seem to be starting a lot of things these days. I joined twitter, Linked In, and (obviously) started this doozy of a blog. It comes from a desire to be connected as well as one to try new things.
